The second recipient of the prestigious John Turner Scholarship at Newcastle University is Hrishikesh Manu who is an undergraduate studying Civil and Structural Engineering.
Hrishikesh is from Newcastle and chose to stay in his home town for his degree. He enjoys swimming and has achieved the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award as well as a brown belt in Martial Arts. Hrishikesh hopes to become a Chartered Engineer in the future.
The John Turner Scholarship was set up in memory of John Turner who was Chair of The St Nicholas’ Educational Trust in Newcastle for many years. He studied Civil Engineering at Newcastle University and Trustees wanted to recognise his contribution to assist young people in the North East following his death in 2019.
